AWS Cloud Engineer

Cortechs.ai is actively recruiting for an AWS Cloud Engineer position within the US.

 

Position Overview:

Cortechs.ai is a leader in medical imaging AI solutions for neurology and oncology, empowering healthcare professionals with tools that enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. Located in San Diego with options for remote work, we are seeking a highly skilled Mid-Level AWS Cloud Engineer to join our cloud infrastructure team. This individual will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable AWS cloud environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS services, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for automating and optimizing cloud operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with software developers, DevOps, and AI/ML engineers to deploy and operate cloud-based applications.
  • Implement best practices for cloud security, cost management, and disaster recovery.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize cloud resources.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and corporate security policies.
  • Assist in the architecture and scaling of cloud services to support AI/ML workloads.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud infrastructure engineering.
  • Expertise in core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, etc.).
  • Proficient with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and AWS security services (KMS, IAM, Security Groups, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS) and deploying microservices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulatory compliance for medical device manufacturers.
  • Proficiency and proven experience writing well-structured Python code
  • Proficiency with medical imaging data formats and structures (DICOM).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK Stack, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps culture.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or Developer) are a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
